Prepare for Induction

If you are successful in the first step of the applications process, you will be required to attend a four-day induction at Lund University School of Aviation, Sweden, where you will undergo aptitude and medical testing. Acceptance into the course is based on your results during induction.

Testing schedule
Day 1: JAA Class 1 Medical Test
Day 2: Written aptitude test followed by an interview and testing

The medical test covers:
  • Health, in line with JAA/ JAR-FCL specifications
  • Optical testing
  • Body mass index (BMI)
  • Muscular system development and capacity
  • Divulging special medical requirements

The first aptitude test covers:

  • Perception and scanning
  • Spatial orientation capacity
  • Working memory function
  • Logical reasoning
The second test, conducted during the interview, covers:
  • Simultaneous capacity
  • Situational awareness
  • Stress tolerance
You will receive your aptitude and medical test results within three weeks of completing the induction. They will be accompanied by a Pre-departure Information Pack containing your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE), which you need to apply for your student visa. The course will generally begin in Australia within 10 weeks of induction.

Documents to take to induction
  • Visa & Passport - show the original and supply a certified copy
  • Criminal Record Check - supply the original
  • Birth Certificate - show the original and supply a certified copy
  • Records of Upper Secondary OR High School education in English, Mathematics & Physics - show the original and supply a certified copy
