Privacy Policy

Our Commitment to Privacy

Your privacy and personal information is important to us. The International School of European Aviation (ISEA) is subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW) and complies with the National Privacy Principles for handing your personal information. ISEA will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the collection, use, disclosure and handling of your personal information complies with the law.

You have the option of not identifying yourself when making initial enquiries with ISEA. However, it is not lawful or practicable for ISEA to process your course enrolment without collecting personal information from you.

ISEA's Privacy Policy applies to your personal information as collected, used or held by ISEA. Because L.U.S.A and its satellite campus are separate organisations from ISEA, the privacy policies of L.U.S.A and/or its satellite campus will apply where your personal information is collected, used or held by them.

ISEA will do the following:

  • ISEA will only collect personal information about you that is required in the provision of information about or the promotion or delivery of our courses and services to you; administration of ISEA's business; business analysis; or to meet any legal obligations imposed on ISEA.
  • ISEA may disclose your personal information to the Lund University School of European Aviation (L.U.S.A) and its satellite campus for purposes related to your enrolment, progress through the course, conduct, assessment, award of qualifications and graduation.
  • L.U.S.A is an organisation based in Sweden, and so the transfer of your personal information to and from L.U.S.A involves transborder data flows between Australia and Sweden. ISEA will take all reasonable steps to ensure that any transborder data flow is secure.
  • ISEA may have a need to verify the personal information that you have supplied to it and thus may exchange your personal information with other institutions for this purpose.
  • ISEA may need to collect sensitive information from third parties such as L.U.S.A's satellite campus, doctors or other health care providers in order to assess that you are medically fit to meet the course requirements.
  • ISEA may share sensitive information regarding your health with L.U.S.A and its satellite campus for the purpose of verifying that your medical fitness meets the course requirements.
  • ISEA will collect personal information directly from you if it is reasonable and practicable to do so.
  • ISEA may disclose your personal information to any educational institution which is seeking to verify your student conduct or academic record for the purpose of determining your eligibility for admission to, or enrolment at, that institution.
  • Any personal information provided to ISEA may be disclosed to Australian Commonwealth and State Government departments and agencies, pursuant to ISEA's obligations under Australian or state law, including the Higher Education Support Act 2003, the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 and the National Code. This information includes, but is not limited to, changes to your enrolment and (for international students) any breach of a student visa condition relating to attendance or satisfactory academic performance.
  • If the payment for your course is made by a sponsor (a third party paying your tuition fees or nominated by you as a sponsor), ISEA may release your personal information to your sponsor, including information regarding your application, subject results, progress reports, and enrolment details (including contact details).
  • Only de-identified information (i.e. information which does not disclose your identity) will be used for any statistical or other analysis or similar research purposes.
  • All reasonable steps will be taken to ensure that the personal information that ISEA collects, uses or discloses is accurate and up-to-date. If you need to update your contact details, please let us know.
  • ISEA will take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
  • ISEA will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify personal information if we no longer need it for any purpose.
  • On your request, we will give you access to your personal information that we hold. If any of your personal information that we hold is out of date or inaccurate, we encourage you to let us know, and ask us to correct it.
