Melanie Dow

Position: JAR Flight Instructor

Experience:

  • Total flying hours 4,500
  • Grade One instructor
  • Testing approvals up to and including PPL and Night Rating
  • Line Pilot RPT (King Island Airlines).

Career History

Growing up in and around the aviation industry, Melanie currently holds the position as the flying school's Head of Training, with CASA testing approvals up to and including Private Pilot Licence and Night VFR Ratings. Melanie's endless pursuit to improve training standards filters though the long list of staff and students under her wing.

TVSA's theory of training pilots for the 'real world' in operational scenarios is further reinforced by Melanie's active role as a Line Pilot for King Island Airlines on the Piper Chieftain.

Leading up to what will continue to be a very successful career in aviation, Melanie takes immense pride and satisfaction in the quality of training her team at TVSA produces thereby contributing to TVSA's brilliant safety record.

In 2008 Melanie was accredited as a JAR instructor and is looking forward to starting her instructing for the new integrated JAR ATPL course.

Luke Di Clemente

Position: JAR Flight Instructor

Experience

  • Total time 3,000hrs
  • Grade One Instructor
  • RPT Line Pilot (King Island Airlines)

Career History:

After gaining his Commercial Licence with TVSA in 2005, Luke achieved a Grade One Instructor rating and actively upholds and contributes to the company's operational values. Also a strong advocate for imparting real industry experience, Luke is an RPT Line Pilot for King Island Airlines on the Piper Chieftain on a casual basis.

In 2008 Luke joined Melanie in being accredited as a JAR instructor and looks forward to taking to the skies instructing the new JAR course.

Simon Fenton

Position: Ground Instructor

Career History:

Dr Simon Fenton deferred his extensive career as a science professor to take up one in flying. With a keen interest in teaching, Simon has put his own flying on hold to become a dedicated aviation theory instructor for up to and including CPL theory. Currently sporting his Private Licence, Simon's flying training will continue in the near future as he aspires to gain his CPL and Instructor rating to put his theory into practice.
