The following page provides you with questions asked by students on the Enrolment process and the information you need to know when you are enrolling to the International School of European Aviation.
Am I eligible to study in Australia?
International students require an Australian Vocational Education and Training student visa to undertake the ISEA integrated JAR ATP program in Australia. Depending on where you are from, you may need to meet additional criteria to obtain your student visa.
To be eligible for an Australian student visa, you must:
- Be over the age of 18 when starting the course
- Be accepted for full-time study in a registered course or part of a registered course
- Have enough money to pay for travel, tuition and living expenses for yourself, your spouse and your dependent children for the duration of your stay in Australia
- Have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) while in Australia
- Students in a "high-risk Assessment Level 4 and 5" must complete an IELTS examination with a mark of 6.0 or above if English is not your native language
- Be of good character to enter Australia. The information you provide on the Character Declaration section of your application will be used to assess your character

Am I qualified?
Previous flying experience is not necessary however you will need to fulfil the selection prerequisites.
How do I get a medical?
If your initial application is successful, you will undergo a JAR-FCL Class 1 Medical Test when you attend your induction at Lund University School of Aviation, Sweden. The medical test will be conducted in the medical testing facilities in Lund (and Copenhagen) by the designated L.U.S.A medical clinic. You are not required to complete a medical exam prior to undergoing your JAR-FCL Class 1 Medical Test.
If you hold a current JAR-FCL Class 1 medical test you are not required to complete the test again, but will be required to provided L.U.S.A with the original copy of your medical test results.

How do I enrol?
Complete the JAR ATP course application form. If successful, you will be required to attend four days of aptitude and medical testing, followed by an induction at Lund University School of Aviation, Sweden. This is the final step in the application process.
We have a two-step acceptance process:1. You will be notified within approximately two weeks of the Application Closing Date. If successful, you will also receive details about the campus for which you have been selected. You will be required to attend a four-day induction at L.U.S.A in Sweden, which includes aptitude and medical testing. You must pass this to be accepted into the course.
2. Your second notification of acceptance will be issued within three weeks of the aptitude and medical testing at L.U.S.A in Sweden.
How do I accept my offer to attend induction?
To accept your offer to attend the induction at L.U.S.A you will need to
1. Sign and submit the Acceptance of Offer letter, sent to you with your Offer of Admission letter, and return it to ISEA's Enquiries and Admissions Team at

2. Go to our online payment option and pay the induction costs $3500 and $5000 course deposit PLEASE NOTE: This deposit will be refunded if you are unsuccessful in the aptitude and medical testing at L.U.S.A in Sweden.
Does passing the medical and aptitude tests ensure selection?
If you are an ab initio applicant, ie, do not hold your Private Pilot Licence, you are required to attend an interview with the L.U.S.A Recruitment and Selection Department.
The interview is to understand your career objections and to assess your character, commitment and suitability to the ATPL training. If you are successful in this interview you will be selected as a student of ISEA.
How long after induction will I move to Australia?
We recommend you arrive at least one week before the course starts so you can settle into your accommodation and adjust to the climate and time zone.Your initial offer letter will outline when the course starts. Generally, this will be within 10 weeks of induction and testing at Lund University School of Aviation, Sweden.
Am I guaranteed a place at my campus of choice?
You will be notified which campus you have been selected when we inform you that you have been selected to attend induction.We make every attempt to satisfy campus preferences, however we cannot guarantee this due to the limited number of places at each campus, if you are unsuccessful at your campus of choice ISEA will inform you and ensure that you would be satisfied with attending the alternate campuse where we may have a position open.
Will I get a refund if I decide not to continue because I can't get into my campus of choice?
ISEA will inform you of which campus you have been successful in applying for prior to you placing a deposit or paying any course fees, it will therefore be your decision at no financial cost to accept or withdraw from the position, by simply not accepting the Letter of Admission.
If you accept the letter of admission, pay the Induction and Deposit Fee and continue with your application and then decide that you no longer wish to attend the campus you have been successfully placed at ISEA will be unable to refund your inductior or course deposit unless under special circumstance you are no longer able to take up the position.
Do I get a refund if I do not pass the testing at L.U.S.A?
Yes, if you do not pass the testing at L.U.S.A you will be refunded the $5,000 course deposit fee
What is the ICAO English test?
The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) is a United Nations body with responsibility for international civil aviation governance. ICAO has passed a regulation which requires all member states to demonstrate by March 2008 that their international pilots are proficient in English. The new ICAO standards in relation to language proficiency requirements are:The ICAO proficiency testing is mandatory and is conducted once you have started your course at ISEA.The lowest acceptable score if you are from a non-English speaking country is ICAO English Language Level 4 (operational). If your country's native language is English, you must achieve an ICAO English Language Level 6 (expert). The ICAO proficiency test will be undertaken once you have started your training with ISEA.
